Phoenix Environmental is honored to be recognized as one of the 2013 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch,” an awards program sponsored by the Edward Lowe Foundation and presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.

Phoenix Environmental will be honored at an awards ceremony during the ninth annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business event, May 2, 2013 in Lansing, Michigan.

Companies making it to the “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” list are a remarkable group of second-stage companies. Defined as having 6 to 99 full-time-equivalent employees and generating $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or working capital from investors or grants, these companies form the backbone of Michigan’s economy. Representing all regions of the state and a diverse range of industries, companies like Phoenix Environmental are known for their exceptional entrepreneurial leadership, creation of innovation or use of innovation in creative ways, and their sustainable competitive advantage.

Winners were selected by Michigan-based judges from the banking, economic development, entrepreneurship development, industrial and venture capital communities.

 

New UST Inspection App Receives State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Approval

On November 27, 2012, Phoenix Environmental received Michigan DEQ approval for their electronic UST facility inspection checklist app. The app includes the required information listed in Section 280.13(c)(2)(i) thru (viii) of the Michigan Underground Storage Tank Rules (MUSTR). The app also includes the ability to take and store pictures for a visual history of the site.

New Michigan Regulations Require UST Testing and Class A, B & C Operators Went In To Effect January 2, 2013

Here are the highlights for underground storage tank facilities:

  • Must have a designated Class A and Class B Operator
  • Must conduct quarterly inspections for all UST facilities
  • Inspection must be conducted by a licensed operator
  • Must provide documentation regarding compliance following each inspection
